Dear Editor, My friend told me about this 1 day diet plan where you fast for 1 day and then eat regular food the next day. You alternate each day between fasting and eating. Will this method work for losing weight? ~ ~ Dianne Dear Dianne, A lot of people are trying different things to lose weight. Though the 1 day diet is not our preferred method for losing weight, it can be effective if you know what you're doing. If you have the built-in discipline to fast for a day and eat a regular low calorie meal plan without binging, the 1 day diet will work very good for you. You must budget your calories on the days you eat and stay between 1000 to 1200 calories. It's important to use supplemental vitamins on a 1 day diet because you're not getting all the nutrition that your body needs. Take a high quality vitamin and mineral supplement on a daily basis. Be sure to write down all the foods you will eat
on your "eating" days and stay within your calorie budget. We
don't recommend staying on the 1 day diet plan for more than a
month because it will slow down your metabolism, especially if you don't
include daily exercise. For best results, include daily exercise in your
routine and the 1 day diet plan
should work well for you.
