weight by drastically reducing calories and
skipping meals. That’s the worse way to lose
weight and sets you up for diet failure.
Instead, follow these 5 easy tips for losing
weight and burning fat.
1.
Always eat breakfast.
Some people have better results reducing
carbs for breakfast and eating more protein like
egg whites / egg substitute with sugar free
yogurt or protein shake with lite fruit such as
berries or a small apple. If you choose cereal,
always select whole grain products and watch out
for the sugar content. Never consume a cereal
with more than 15 grams of sugar.
2. Eat Often. Plan on 5 meals
per day. The usual breakfast, lunch and dinner
along with a mid morning and afternoon snack to
keep your energy level up and prevent hunger
pains which typically lead to overeating.
3. Drink plenty of water.
Keeping well hydrated helps your body burn fat
so drink a minimum of 10 – 8ounces
cup of water.
4. Don’t drastically cut
calories. Out of desperation, some people
attempt 1000 calories type diet which only lead
to starvation and overeating. It will also slow
your metabolism down so reduce your calorie
intake or portion size by 20% or 500 calories.
5. Stay off the scale. This
may sound wacky but concentrate on good eating
habits and not losing weight. Once you establish
good eating habits, the weight loss will follow
in due time. The problem is that we want
immediate results and satisfaction. Permanent
weight loss is a process and a lifestyle so
concentrate on establishing and maintaining good
eating habits along with these tips and weigh
yourself every 2 or 3 months.
