Sugar Cravings
Dear Editor,
I’m trying to diet and lose
weight but I have a big handicap. I love
desserts and my sweet tooth gets out of control.
When I binge on sweets, usually late at night,
it kills any motivation to stay on a diet. Can
you give me any advice on how to control my
sugar cravings.

Everyone has weaknesses and
your weakness is sweets. Not to worry because
the remedy is not as hard as you think. I
suggest you write and plan every food item you
will eat for the next 7 days. Give yourself 1
day to eat 1 or 2 of your favorite treat and
call it your cheat day. Also, allow yourself 1
favorite sugar treat midweek but the rest of the
5 days should be a strict no extra sugar diet.
Plan on eating 5 or 6 small meals per day. Your
splurge day and your mid week treat day will
keep you from feeling deprived and motivate you
to stick to your strict diet the other 5 days of
the week.
