Visitor Needs Weight Loss Journal to
be Successful at Dieting
Dear Editor,
I try my best to lose weight
but nothing seems to happen. I’m eating less
with no results and when I get depressed or
angry I definitely eat more. It feels like an
emotional roller coaster but I still should be
losing weight. Do you have any suggestions?
Dear
Visitor,
The
first task is to analyze your eating habits so
you can find out why you’re not losing weight.
For one week, keep a weight loss journal or
diary. Write down everything that you eat along
with time, quantity, location and mood you were
in when you ate.
By analyzing your
eating pattern for 7 to 10 days, you will get
clues as to what triggered you to eat improperly
and you will know exactly how many calories
you’re actually eating. You will also be able to
analyze alternative foods that you could have
eaten instead.
Once
you analyze your eating habits through your
diary, you can develop your own eating plan and
be alert for triggers that cause you to eat the
wrong foods. Once you know and understand your
weakness, you can plan how to best overcome.
As the old saying
goes ….. “Know your enemy”
and in this case the
enemy is bad eating patterns.
