Dieting Motivation Tips

Staying motivated enough to lose weight and keep it off can be very difficult. You may know what to do but putting your plan into action is another story.  Keeping your motivation is the difference between remaining where you at or losing 50 pounds.  So what can you do to stay motivated?  Our daily dieting tips below will help you with ideas for more motivation and losing those excess pounds.

1.    Find a picture of someone you physically admire. Post that picture where you can see it on a daily basis and strive to become as fit as the person in the picture. A good place to start may be an amateur bodybuilder  or  iron-man / iron-woman contestant or any picture of a physically fit person that you admire.

2.    Always have a plan. Review your eating and dieting  plan daily and stick to it. Allow yourself 1 “goof off” day each week but stick to your written plan.

3.    Weigh yourself every 3 months and take your trend every 3 months. Contrary to popular opinion, weighing yourself after a few weeks of dieting  can kill your motivation. Body weight fluctuates up and down during the course of a month. It’s the trend downward that you’re concerned with. It’s  nothing more disappointing than getting on the scale after dieting for 3 weeks only to discover you haven’t loss a pound. 

4.    Concentrate on healthy daily eating habits and keep a diary of your daily exercise. Try a fast pace walk or maybe the elliptical at your local health club 3 to 4 times per week for 30 minutes.

5.       Find a workout buddy that you can meet once or twice a week and walk or bike together. Share your struggles and your victories. Learn from and encourage each other. You can also connect with others  virtually at the Diet Forum iPal community or MyDietBuddy.com
