To lose weight, you need a good dieting plan. Most people try to lose weight on their own effort without planning their meals. If you eat whatever is available, it’s extremely hard to eat the right foods without sensible menus to follow. The best way to lose weight is to eat 25% less calories than you normally take in. You can accomplish this by reducing portion size or selecting lower fat foods. The common myth about most dieting plans is that you will have to give up foods you like. To lose weight, you will need to adjust the way you eat but a good dieting plan allows for free days when you can eat some of your favorite foods. You should have 1 free day out of every 7 to 10 days to be successful at losing weight. Most people make the mistake of being too strict on their diet plan and giving up after several days. Dieting is very emotional and depends on motivation for success. If you’re too strict, you will lose motivation. If you’re not strict enough, you will not achieve the necessary calorie deficit to lose weight, which is why a good diet plan is so important for your success. Weight loss journals can be ineffective because they are after the fact. You need to plan your every move (the foods you will eat for the day) so that you’re emotionally prepared to eat the right foods along with the proper portion size. Without a dieting plan, you become vulnerable to eating the wrong foods or over-eating. The best way to lose weight is to eat 3 meals and 2 light snacks through the day. Don’t make the mistake of skipping meals and eating 1 or 2 large meals, particularly at the end of the day. This only leads to over-eating. Skipping meals slows your metabolism down. Think about it, your body typically goes without food for 9 to 12 hour between your last evening meal and the next morning. You’ll go another 5 hours without food between breakfast and lunch, and some people skip breakfast, which starves the body 14 to 17 hours. The lack of food creates a cycle of binging, very little self control and a slow metabolism. Instead, follow a good dieting
plan. Eat 5 times per day and limit your calorie intake by 25 percent.
