Dear Diet Tip, What tricks can you tell me that will help me lose weight. I've tried all types of diet plans and none have worked for me. I'm sick of dieting because it just doesn't work. What advice or tricks can you give me that will work? I'm very depressed about my weight. ~~ Joyce Dear Joyce,
First of all, most people take the wrong approach to dieting.
They skip meals and cut their calorie intake to levels that are
impossible to maintain.
You didn't tell me your method of weight loss but my guess is you're not eating every 2 or 3 hours. You may also be skipping breakfast. The typical women who has trouble losing weight tries to maintain a diet less than 1200 calories per day and they soon get tired and give up. These 3 common mistakes to dieting will slow your metabolism and make it difficult to lose weight. There's no real secrets or tricks to dieting, just a sensible approach. You need an exercise and eating plan that you can live with. Stay between 1200 and 1400 calories per day and eat every 3 hours. Plan each meal and eliminate re-fined sugar from your diet as much as possible. Start an exercise program that you can easily maintain. Walk at a fast pace for 30 minutes a day and integrate the routine into your daily lifestyle. You can walk during your lunch break or soon as you arrive home. Have a set time each day that you exercise. If getting away from home to exercise is too hard because of kids, try purchasing a stationary bike with back support and ride 30 minutes each day while you watch the kids. The nice thing about stationary biking is that you can do it anytime while enjoying your favorite television or radio program. A 30 minute ride at slow to moderate speed burns 250 calories. The trick to losing weight is to make dieting and exercise fun. That's why it's important to plan your diet around healthy foods that you like and do some type of exercise that you enjoy. -----------------------------------------------------------------------
