Dear Editor,
My friend said to reduce fat
calories if I wanted to lose weight. I know that
too much fat in your diet is not good but will
cutting the fat in my diet really help me lose
weight. I get really confuse because I hear that
carbs are the way to go. Others tell me to cut
fat. So what is it? Do I cut fat or increase
protein or go on a low card diet?
The answer to your question
is Yes. You can lose weight on a low fat diet or
a low carb diet. Many people have great success
on a high protein diet. The real answer is
sticking to a diet that you can maintain. We
recommend a low fat diet for many reasons. A
diet low in fat will reduce your risk of cancer
and other diseases.
We live in a high fat society
and it's easy to consume too many calories. Find
the diet that's best for you. Most diets will
work if you stick with it. Try to reduce fat as
much as possible. Some low carb diets emphasize
too much fat which is unhealthy. You may lose
weight but your cholesterol count will shoot
through the roof at the same time. Aim to reduce
fat from your diet when possible and pick the
diet that best fits your lifestyle and taste.
