Grapefruit Diet Plan Exposed

question about diet plan -- Is grapefruit diet safe

Dear Editor,
I heard about the grapefruit diet plan and wanted to know if it was safe. And if it's safe, does it work. I'm looking for a diet plan that will give me rapid results but I don't want to sacrifice nutrition. Please give me a few tips on this diet plan.

Dear Reader,
The grapefruit diet is just another fad diet plan. It consist of 3 meals with no between meal snacks. You drink 8 glasses of water (which is good) during the day and every meal includes 8 ounces of grapefruit juice. So far ... so good. Breakfast consist of eggs and bacon (not good) ......  lunch and dinner consist of salad or veggie and a meat. The diet  lacks certain vitamins and nutrients that your body needs to survive.

Overall, we do not recommend this diet plan. Though there are a few healthy aspects to the diet like drinking 8 glasses of water a day, the diet is too restrictive and will cause your metabolism to slow down. It's also very hard to maintain over a period of time and it restricts certain types of healthy vegetables they claim don't burn fat.

If you want to lose weight and keep it off, you need a sensible diet you can follow for a lifetime. Avoid fad diets because they starve your body of important nutrients and they are impossible to maintain.
