Dear EditorI would like to start on an a healthy diet plan so I can lose 20 pounds. Every time I go on a diet, I get frustrated and quit. One of the problem is that I really don't like to eat fruits. Can you give me any suggestions on how to plan a healthy diet plan that will work and that's easy to stick to. ~~ Marilyn Dear Marilyn, To stick to healthy eating plan you need to eat 4 to 5 times per day. Most people who diet will starve themselves by eating once or twice per day. This is a recipe for disaster. By eating smaller meals through the day, you won't become too hungry and your body will burn more calories through-out the day. Try to include at least 4 to 5 servings of fruits and vegetables to your diet. If you have trouble eating that much fruit, try a fruit smoothie. Make it at home and add fruits you can tolerate. Blend with ice and juice and now you're drinking the fruits instead of eating them. Don't forget to includes plenty of lean meats in your diet. Instead of eating a hamburger, try a turkey burger. Salads are good but use a low calorie dressing or use half the amount of regular dressing. Strive for 1200 to 1400 calories per day and plan each
meal. A good exercise program will speed your results. There will be
days when you overeat, don't let it bother you. Start new the next day
and stay focus on your weight loss goals.
