Healthy foods are important to a healthy lifestyle
and weight loss. Unfortunately, the typical American eats a diet that's
very high in fat and cholesterol. Obesity is at an all time high because high
calories foods are so easily available.
Instead of reaching for the Big Mac, try selecting healthy foods that are lower in fat and calories. The reason obesity is out of control is that people forget that calories matter. If you continually eat more calories than you burn, you will continue to gain weight. To lose weight and maintain a healthy lifestyle, select better foods when you're in a restaurant or fast food. Instead of the double cheeseburger with fries, try a chicken salad with low calories dressing. You can also order a large hamburger without the bread, known as the low carb burger. Eliminate the fatty sauces and stick to ketchup and mustard. Many fast food restaurant offer low fat yogurt. McDonald's offers Yogurt Parfait, which includes low fat yogurt with berries. Combine that with one of their chicken salads and you got a great healthy lunch that's under 400 calories and 6 grams of fat. Bring fruits with you to work to snack between meals and prepare dinners from low fat, delicious recipes to make eating healthy fun and entertaining.
