Dear Editor, What do you consider a low cholesterol diet? My cholesterol level is too high and I don’t want to take drugs to lower it. I heard that a good diet can lower your cholesterol level so what do you suggest I eat? ~ ~ Jackie Dear Jackie, There are ways to lower your cholesterol level through good dietary habits.
Cream sauces and fatty meats are notorious for containing high cholesterol and should be avoided.
Junk food contains high fat, simple carbs and loads of cholesterol. Reduce the amount of daily junk food in your diet to help lower your overall cholesterol count.
Fish rich in Omega 3 have been known to help you achieve a low cholesterol. A good example of Omega 3 rich fish is salmon or sword fish. There are also Omega 3 tablets you can take.
Try more soy products like soy
milk or soy nuts. Tofu is made from soy and can be easily seasoned and
cooked.
