Dear Diet Tip, My friend told be that certain foods are actually negative calories and if I eat them, they will speed up my metabolism. Is there any truth to this? I would love to eat foods that rev up my metabolism but I'm a little suspicious about this concept. ~~ Kathy, Dear Kathy, Follow your conscious on this one. The truth is ..... negative calories don't exist. It's just another gimmicky method to sell weight loss. The purpose of food is to provide nutrition and energy for your body, and all food contain calories. The only way to make your body burn more calories is to increase your activity level. It would be great to speed up your metabolism by eating certain foods instead of exercising but that's not reality. However, there are plenty of companies that pounce on people lack of nutritional knowledge and laziness, leading them to believe that a pill or certain foods will take the place of exercise. To lose weight, you need to decrease your daily
calorie intake by 25% and increase your activity level by daily fast
pace walks or stationary biking at a moderate pace. You will see real
results and you won't be a victim of another fad weight loss scheme
or the negative diet scam. SiteMap Home
