causes of overeating  ●  overeating problems

Dear Editor,

I'm having a hard time overcoming my overeating impulse. I try to eat the right foods but I lose control in the late afternoon and evening . How can I control this monster that causes overeating?

Dear Reader,

Overcoming the overeating impulse can be difficult but you will prevail. To be successful at controlling your urge, you must be aware of the causes such as:
  1. Depression
  2. Lack of exercise
  3. Eating too few calories through the day which causes you to binge later.
  4. Skipping meals, especially breakfast.
  5. Lack of discipline.
  6. Lack of proper meal planning.
  7. Salty snacks such as  as potato chips tend to stimulate overeating.
Some causes of overeating are simple such as properly planning meals. Too many people eat whatever is available and don't properly plan each meal. This alone causes you to overeat.

Other causes for overeating are more complex but need to be dealt with such as depression and lack of discipline. However, examine the above causes for overeating and make a mental plan to deal with the them. You will be on your way to overcoming this very frustrating problem.
