Water and Dieting

dieting for weight loss -- importance of water to dieting

Dear Diet Tip,

I was curious how important water is to weight loss. I always seem to be dieting but lately the weight is just not coming off. I know that more exercise would help but I don't have time. My biggest problem is that I don't drink water.  I hate drinking water unless it's mix with something that taste good. What do you think?

  ~~ Marge

Dear Marge,

Drinking an adequate amount of liquids, particularly water is essential to good nutrition and yes, even dieting. Water cleanses the body of toxins. The more toxins that are removed from your body,  the more efficient your body becomes at burning excess fat.

Don't neglect drinking at least 8 cups of pure water. Don't worry about taste because the more important issue is that your body is receiving an essential element to exist. Too much emphasis is placed on taste. Your taste bud should never over-rule what your body needs most ...... water.

Normal activities will cause you to lose several pints of water per day, and that water needs to be replaced. The better you treat your body nutritionally, the easier it is to see the results of your dieting efforts.
