Dear Diet Tip, My husband seems to have a much easier time losing weight than me. Does the average woman have to work harder at dieting because of body make-up? We eat the same dinner and I even exercise more than he does but he lost 10 pounds and I haven't lost anything. Dear Reader,
Men have more muscle mass than the average woman so they tend to
burn more calories than most women. The average woman needs to
consume between 1200 and 1500 calories to lose 1 pound of fat
per week while men can consume up to 2100 calories to lose the
same amount of weight.
You can eat the same dinner as your husband but eat less portions. Plan your meals and know the calorie values of all the foods you eat. Try to eat smaller meals and eat every 2 or 3 hours to keep your body fueled and metabolism high. Combine a sensible diet with your exercise program and you will start losing weight. -----------------------------------------------------------------------
